Art. Radica - from Conceria Solaris, Italy

Art. Radica is made by Italian Conceria Solaris, a LWG Silver Star Rated tannery. It comes in five gorgeous colors, brightly hand finished, very smooth Cow leather with a shine like a Shell. These are full grain, smooth plated cowhides, aniline drum dyed to match base crust, hand-rubbed with aniline dye on top, and hand-glazed for a smooth glassy finish. Medium to firm temper, Colors will vary from skin to skin due to the aniline dye system and the hand swirl effect. This leather only gets better with age as it takes on its natural veg tan patina with memories of everyday usage. 

Tannery History:  Conceria Solaris was born in 1998 as a brain child of Ulisse Conti, a very well-known tanner in the Leather District in Tuscany. Ulisse Conti belongs to a category of tanners that you can’t find anymore, if you don’t have one of them in your family. Why? Because what he did, just as others of his generation, belongs to the annals of Tanning that included many social and business changes. When he was younger, he rose up early to go to work in the local tannery, which was quite physical at that time. He rose from the humblest of beginnings to then realizing his great dream and great responsibility of creating his own tannery. You can imagine how precious Ulisse’s experience, including his knowledge of leathers was for Conceria Solaris. Out of Solaris comes Art. Radica. 

CAUTION:  Glazed shiny smooth leathers such as this article are not recommended for making belts since some wrinkling may develop on the belt surface from extreme and repeated flexing, which belts normally experience. This is not a defect of the leather but a wrong application of this leather type.
